Rather than relying solely on engineers analysing data in the garage, millions of telemetry points are uploaded into Google Cloud during each session.

The system captures everything from:

  • Vehicle speed
  • Steering angle
  • Braking pressure
  • G-forces
  • Battery deployment
  • GPS positioning
  • Aerodynamic performance

That enormous volume of data is automatically processed using Google Cloud services before being analysed by Google’s Vertex AI platform running Gemini models.

The AI compares every braking zone, corner entry and acceleration point against benchmark laps before identifying where performance can be improved.

Instead of overwhelming the driver with raw data, the platform converts those findings into simple coaching instructions such as:

  • Brake ten metres later.
  • Carry more speed through the apex.
  • Improve battery regeneration on corner exit.

Those recommendations are then delivered almost instantly using Gemini-powered edge computing running on a Google Pixel 10 Pro, allowing drivers to receive near real-time coaching.

It is effectively a digital race engineer powered by artificial intelligence.


From the Race Track to Your Driveway

Although developed for elite motorsport, the underlying technology has implications far beyond Formula E and connects directly with the software-led vehicle technology covered in our EVs & Technology section.
