Xbox is expanding its 25th-anniversary celebrations with a new wave of X25 content, including community-created console designs, curated Xbox Game Pass collections and a global FanFest tour that includes a UK stop in London.

The latest anniversary programme arrives as Microsoft builds towards 15 November, marking 25 years since the original Xbox launched in 2001. The company has now detailed several more ways players can take part in the celebrations across console, PC and mobile.

Xbox FanFest tour is coming to London

One of the biggest announcements is the full schedule for the Xbox FanFest Tour. According to Xbox’s official anniversary announcement, the tour will visit Cologne during Gamescom on 26 August before heading to Tokyo on 17 September and London on 26 September.

Further events are planned for Mexico City and Sydney on 17 October, Toronto on 6 November and Seattle at a date still to be confirmed. Tickets for each stop will be awarded through city-specific sweepstakes rather than conventional ticket sales.

The Cologne stop follows directly from Xbox’s major Gamescom presence. Tech Torque Media has already covered Xbox’s Gamescom 2026 live broadcast line-up, which includes two days of gameplay, trailers and developer interviews.

Game Pass gets a tour through Xbox history

Xbox is also using Game Pass to revisit its back catalogue. Special 25th-anniversary collections are bringing together games associated with different generations of Xbox hardware, spanning the original Xbox through Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Microsoft highlights titles including Fable Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Fallout 4 and Psychonauts 2 as part of the anniversary selection. Availability varies between console and PC.

The collections give Game Pass another discovery angle beyond its regular additions. That sits alongside the continuing monthly rotation of titles, including the August Wave 2 Game Pass additions already covered by Tech Torque Media.

New X25 designs are available now

The anniversary celebrations also extend directly to Xbox profiles and consoles. Xbox has partnered with community creators Klobrille and Ben Kenobi on a collection of gamerpics, backgrounds and a dynamic console theme.

Players can apply the designs through Xbox console personalisation settings, while selected profile options are also available through the Xbox app on PC.

Xbox has also introduced a 25th Anniversary profile badge. Players who sign into their Xbox account on console, PC or the Xbox mobile app can receive the badge, which will remain available until the end of 2026.

Xbox Gear joins the anniversary programme

Microsoft has also launched Xbox Gear as a new home for official Xbox-branded merchandise. Its opening collections include Gloss, Est.01 and Blood Gulch, with additional releases planned as the anniversary year continues.

The wider X25 campaign has already included anniversary hardware inspired by the translucent green styling associated with the original Xbox, and Microsoft says more anniversary experiences and announcements will follow as November approaches.

Tech Torque Verdict

Xbox’s 25th anniversary is becoming much more than a single November celebration. The combination of FanFest events, Game Pass collections and community-designed console customisation gives existing players several ways to take part without relying solely on new hardware or merchandise.

For UK Xbox fans, the London FanFest on 26 September is the standout addition. Meanwhile, the anniversary Game Pass collections provide a useful reminder of just how much the Xbox library has changed across four console generations. With Gamescom beginning this week and the anniversary itself still nearly three months away, Microsoft clearly has room for more X25 announcements before 15 November.
