Tesla has launched a UK product page for the Semi, listing the European-spec electric truck with an estimated 550 km (342-mile) range, 1.0 kWh/km energy consumption and up to 800 kW charging capability.
The UK listing does not yet confirm when orders will open or when deliveries will begin in the UK. It does, however, publish a full set of specifications for the 40-tonne European configuration. Tesla’s UK page lists three independent rear-axle motors, a 9,100 kg kerb weight and up to 800 kW of drive power.
Those two 800 kW figures refer to different parts of the truck. Tesla lists an estimated 800 kW charging capability in the headline specifications, while the detailed technical data separately quotes up to 800 kW of drive power. The page also lists MCS 3.2 charging and says the Semi can recover up to 60% of its range in 30 minutes. Tesla has not published a usable battery-capacity figure on the UK page.
Tesla Semi UK specifications
According to Tesla’s UK Semi page, the European truck is listed with:

Tesla notes that specifications depend on vehicle configuration. The company is also positioning the Semi around lower operating costs, remote diagnostics, over-the-air software updates and fewer powertrain components than a conventional diesel truck.
The European Semi is not the same as the 500-mile US version
The 550 km European specification is important because it differs substantially from the headline range Tesla has promoted for the Semi in North America.
Tesla’s US site currently lists two versions: a Standard Range truck with an estimated 325-mile range and a Long Range model rated at up to 500 miles. The European page, by contrast, currently shows a single Standard Range configuration at approximately 550 km.
That makes direct comparisons difficult. Heavy-truck range depends heavily on payload, route, speed, weather and trailer aerodynamics, and Tesla says its figures are configuration-dependent. For fleet operators, the more useful figures will ultimately be energy use under real working conditions and how reliably the truck can recover range during scheduled driver breaks.
Charging could be the bigger story than outright range
A claimed 342-mile range is enough to cover many regional and depot-based freight duties, but charging infrastructure remains one of the biggest practical questions around battery-electric heavy trucks.
Tesla says its Semi can recover up to 60% of range in 30 minutes using dedicated Semi Chargers. On the European specification, the company lists MCS 3.2 as the charge type. The Megawatt Charging System is designed for commercial vehicles that need far more charging power than a typical passenger EV, reducing the time a truck spends stationary between shifts or during scheduled breaks.
The claimed 1.0 kWh/km energy-consumption figure is equally important. At that level, a truck covering the full quoted 550 km range would theoretically use around 550 kWh of energy, although that is only a simple calculation from Tesla’s published figures rather than a confirmed usable battery capacity. Real consumption will vary with load, route and conditions.
Tesla is making a renewed push into European trucking
The UK page arrives as Tesla steps up its push into Europe’s heavy-truck market. Reuters reports that Tesla is using IAA Transportation in Hanover to promote the long-delayed Semi to European fleet operators.
IAA Transportation 2026 opens with its Press Day on 14 September, ahead of the main event from 15 to 20 September. That puts Tesla’s European Semi push directly into one of the industry’s biggest commercial-vehicle showcases.
The Semi was first unveiled in 2017 and began limited US customer deliveries in late 2022 after repeated production delays. Tesla has since been working towards higher-volume production while established European truck manufacturers have continued expanding their own battery-electric heavy-duty ranges.
That means Tesla is entering a market where electric trucks are no longer experimental. Range, charging-network availability, payload impact, service support and total operating cost will matter at least as much as headline acceleration or motor output.
What the UK page does — and does not — confirm
The key development is that Tesla now has a dedicated UK Semi product page carrying the European specification. That is a stronger signal of local market intent than a generic global product page, but it is not the same as a confirmed UK launch date.
Tesla’s French Semi page says deliveries begin in 2027. The UK page, however, still offers a “Get Updates” option rather than a conventional vehicle ordering process, and it does not give a UK delivery date.
Tesla has not published UK pricing, customer delivery timing or details of where dedicated Semi charging infrastructure would be deployed in Britain. Those are the details that will determine whether the Semi can move from an interesting specification sheet to a practical fleet proposition in the UK.
Tech Torque Verdict
Tesla’s European Semi looks less dramatic on headline range than the 500-mile US Long Range model, but that does not automatically make it less useful. A 550 km working range, 1.0 kWh/km claimed consumption and rapid high-power charging could suit regional freight and depot-based operations particularly well if Tesla can support the truck with dependable charging and service infrastructure.
The UK product page is therefore worth watching, but the key questions remain unanswered: price, order availability, delivery timing and charging-network rollout. Until Tesla confirms those, this is best viewed as a serious statement of intent rather than a confirmed UK on-sale launch.
