Haas’s VF-26 gets sweeping light-blue Godzilla artwork for Austin, ahead of the US release of Godzilla Minus Zero.
Haas has unveiled the Godzilla-themed livery Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman will race at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix. Light-blue brushstrokes now run along the VF-26, with artwork featuring the Japanese monster set against the team’s white and black bodywork.
Both cars will wear the new colours at the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas from 23–25 October. Haas revealed the design online on Monday 19 October.
From Suzuka’s red to Austin’s blue
This is Haas’s second Godzilla livery of the year. The first appeared at the Japanese Grand Prix in March, shortly after the team announced its season-long partnership with TOHO, the studio behind the films.
Suzuka’s design kept Haas’s usual white, black and red palette. Austin’s version is much bluer, with broader paint-like graphics and the monster worked into the bodywork. The official Formula 1 photographs show the difference particularly clearly from the side.
The drivers’ kit is changing too. Ocon and Bearman will wear Godzilla-themed race suits, while Bearman has a matching helmet made for Austin. Haas-backed F1 Academy driver Kaylee Countryman will also wear themed racewear.
The film connection
Godzilla Minus Zero opens in US cinemas on 6 November, less than two weeks after the Grand Prix. Haas and TOHO planned special liveries for both Suzuka and Austin when they announced their partnership in March.
Austin is one of Haas’s three home Grands Prix, alongside Miami and Las Vegas.
Where fans can see it in Austin
Haas will show the livery to fans on Thursday 22 October at the Domain NORTHSIDE Shopping Plaza Lawn. Team principal Ayao Komatsu is due to attend with Ocon, Bearman, reserve driver Jack Doohan and Countryman. Bearman’s new helmet will be revealed there as well.
A separate Godzilla-themed Haas show car will be on display at Barton Creek Square from 23–25 October, along with a limited clothing collection. The team has set out the full arrangements in its Austin announcement.
