Google’s Pixel 11 range has officially gone on sale in the UK today, 20 August, following its unveiling at the Made by Google event last week.

The new generation comprises four phones: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Every model uses Google’s new Tensor G6 processor, starts with at least 256GB of storage and launches with Android 17.

Prices begin at £879 for the standard Pixel 11 and rise to £1,799 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, placing Google’s latest devices firmly within premium smartphone territory.

Google Pixel 11 UK prices

The new phones are available through the Google Store and participating UK retailers at the following starting prices:

  • Google Pixel 11, 256GB: £879
  • Google Pixel 11 Pro, 256GB: £1,079
  • Google Pixel 11 Pro XL, 256GB: £1,279
  • Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold, 256GB: £1,799

Google is offering enhanced trade-in values until 1 September. Eligible devices can attract up to £650 against the Pixel 11 or up to £850 against a Pro model, although the final value depends on the model and condition of the phone being exchanged.

What is different about each Pixel 11 model?

Although the four devices share the same processor and core software platform, there are substantial differences in their displays, cameras and form factors.

Pixel 11

The standard Pixel 11 combines a 6.3-inch Actua display with 12GB of RAM and a triple rear-camera system.

Its new 48-megapixel main sensor is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10.8-megapixel 5x telephoto lens. Super Zoom extends the available magnification to 30x.

This is the least expensive route into the new generation, although its £879 starting price means it can no longer be considered an affordable flagship.

Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL

The Pixel 11 Pro retains a compact 6.3-inch format, while the Pro XL increases the Super Actua display to 6.8 inches.

Both models receive Google’s more advanced camera system, comprising a 50-megapixel main camera, 48-megapixel ultrawide and upgraded 48-megapixel 5x telephoto lens. Google’s computational processing extends Pro Zoom to as much as 120x.

A new anti-scratch display coating is also claimed to provide more than twice the scratch resistance of the previous generation.

The main difference between the Pro and Pro XL is therefore size. The smaller Pro offers the premium camera hardware in a more manageable body, while the XL provides a larger display and stronger charging performance.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold

At £1,799, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold remains the specialist option.

It combines a 6.5-inch outer display with an eight-inch folding screen, 16GB of RAM and Google’s foldable-focused multitasking tools.

Google says the new model is almost 10% lighter and approximately 1mm thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. It also supports faster 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging and can reach 50% through wired charging in around 30 minutes.

Tensor G6 brings faster on-device AI

All four phones are powered by Google Tensor G6 and the new Titan M3 security processor.

According to Google’s official Pixel 11 announcement, the upgraded processor delivers 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches than Tensor G5. Its improved AI hardware is claimed to process supported on-device tasks up to 3.5 times faster while using substantially less energy.

Tensor G6 also supports Google’s latest Gemini Intelligence features. These include proactive suggestions, multi-step actions across supported apps and new Gboard tools such as more natural voice input.

Google notes that the availability of some Gemini features will depend on the user’s country, language and subscription.

The camera is still Pixel’s main attraction

Photography remains one of the strongest reasons to consider a Pixel phone.

The standard Pixel 11 receives a larger 48-megapixel sensor which Google says offers 56% greater light sensitivity than the Pixel 10. The Pro phones gain a larger telephoto sensor and Night Sight processing that can capture supported low-light images up to 4.5 times faster.

New software features include Magic Capture, which analyses hundreds of frames to produce a selection of 12-megapixel photographs while also recording video.

Camera Looks provides several adjustable photographic styles, including Natural, Shadows, Digi, Editorial and Classic. Unlike a filter applied afterwards, these settings alter how the phone processes the image as it is captured.

HiLight turns the flash into a notification system

The Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold also introduce HiLight.

This system places coloured LEDs around the rear flash, allowing the phone to display different patterns while Gemini is listening, processing or responding. Owners can also assign colours to important contacts, making incoming calls identifiable while the phone is face down.

Google says message notifications will be added later, although broader third-party application support has not been confirmed.

The standard Pixel 11 does not include HiLight.

Faster charging, but no power adapter

The Pixel 11 range supports wired USB-C charging and magnetic Pixelsnap wireless accessories.

Both the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro support Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W. Google claims the Pixel 11 Pro XL can recover approximately 15 hours of battery life from a 15-minute wired charge under its test conditions.

A compatible power adapter is sold separately, so buyers reusing an older charger should check its USB Power Delivery and PPS support. Tech Torque Media’s USB-C explainer covers the differences between cable types and charging standards.

Seven years of software support

Every Pixel 11 phone launches with Android 17 and is promised seven years of operating-system updates, security patches and Pixel Drops.

That commitment substantially improves the long-term value of the devices, particularly for buyers who intend to keep their phone beyond a typical two or three-year contract.

Google is also expanding the surrounding Pixel ecosystem through the Pixel Watch 5 and new Pixel Tag tracker. This closer integration is important as Google attempts to challenge the convenience offered by the Apple ecosystem and products such as the Apple AirTag.

Tech Torque Verdict

The Pixel 11 family represents a substantial camera and AI upgrade, but Google is asking UK buyers to pay premium prices across the range.

The standard Pixel 11 appears to offer the most balanced package, with 256GB of storage, a telephoto camera and the same Tensor G6 processor as the more expensive models. The £1,079 Pixel 11 Pro will appeal to photography enthusiasts who want the best camera hardware without moving to a larger phone.

HiLight is an interesting addition, although its usefulness will depend on how extensively Google develops it after launch.

The real questions concern everyday battery life, sustained performance and whether Google’s new AI tools consistently improve the experience. Those areas will require independent testing before the Pixel 11 range can be judged against the latest iPhone and Samsung Galaxy flagships.
