Peugeot e-3008 (2025): A One-Year Owner Review

Written by

Having lived with the Peugeot e-3008 since April 2025, I’ve put it through the ultimate real-world test: daily commutes, school runs, family trips and long-distance journeys.

As a family SUV, it enters one of the most competitive segments of the electric vehicle market. After more than a year behind the wheel, here’s my honest assessment of where this striking fastback SUV excels — and where it occasionally falls short.

Styling and Interior: A Premium Step Forward

If there’s one area where the e-3008 immediately impresses, it’s its design.

Peugeot’s move towards a sleek fastback silhouette gives the car a modern and futuristic appearance that still attracts attention more than a year into ownership.

Inside, the Panoramic i-Cockpit is undoubtedly the highlight. The floating 21-inch curved display feels genuinely premium and places all key information directly within the driver’s field of view.

Combined with the customisable i-Toggles, navigating the infotainment system quickly becomes second nature once you’ve configured it to your liking.

The quality of materials throughout the cabin is excellent and helps blur the line between mainstream and premium manufacturers.

Family Practicality and Everyday Use

As a family vehicle, the e-3008 handles everyday life very well, although there are a few compromises.

What Works Well

  • Large boot with plenty of space for luggage, shopping and family gear
  • Useful cabin storage throughout
  • Comfortable driving position
  • Spacious feeling front cabin
  • Easy to live with on a daily basis

Areas to Consider

The stylish roofline does have an impact on rear accommodation.

Rear headroom and overall passenger space can feel slightly tighter than in more traditional SUV designs. It’s perfectly adequate for younger children and everyday use, but taller passengers may notice the difference on longer journeys.

That said, for our family it has never been a major issue.

Range, Efficiency and Long-Distance Travel

One of the biggest strengths of the e-3008 is how easy it makes long-distance driving.

Over the past year, efficiency has been consistently impressive, particularly on motorway journeys. The vehicle delivers competitive miles-per-kWh figures and makes range anxiety largely a thing of the past.

Combined with overnight charging on a discounted EV tariff and the increasingly reliable public charging network, family trips have been straightforward and stress-free.

The fast-charging capability is particularly useful on longer journeys, allowing enough charge to be added during a short comfort break.

I’ve completed several longer journeys since taking delivery and have never found charging to be a significant inconvenience.

Driving Experience

The e-3008 is at its best as a comfortable long-distance cruiser.

Cabin refinement is excellent, with very little wind or road noise entering the interior. The vehicle feels solid, stable and confidence-inspiring at motorway speeds.

Around town, Peugeot’s signature small steering wheel helps the car feel more agile than its size would suggest, making parking and urban driving surprisingly easy.

The suspension strikes a good balance between comfort and control, making it particularly well suited to family use.

Reliability and Electronic Quirks

Ownership hasn’t been completely fault-free.

While the mechanical platform has felt solid and dependable, there have been occasional software-related issues throughout the first year.

These have included:

  • Intermittent warning messages appearing without explanation
  • Occasional infotainment glitches
  • Rare instances where the vehicle has required a system restart before selecting gear

Thankfully, these issues have generally been temporary and resolved by restarting the vehicle.

Peugeot has also released software updates, including the MZR recall campaign, which have noticeably improved overall stability and reliability.

Since receiving the latest updates, the frequency of these issues has reduced significantly.

Running Costs

One of the biggest advantages of switching to the e-3008 has been reduced running costs.

Charging at home using an EV-specific tariff costs significantly less than running an equivalent petrol or diesel SUV. Combined with lower servicing requirements, overall ownership costs have been very competitive.

For drivers covering average annual mileage, the savings can quickly add up compared with traditional fuel-powered alternatives.

Verdict

Rating: 4/5 Stars

After more than a year of ownership, the Peugeot e-3008 remains one of the most stylish electric family SUVs available today.

Its standout design, premium-feeling cabin, impressive efficiency and excellent motorway comfort make it an easy vehicle to live with every day.

While the occasional software glitch and slightly compromised rear space prevent it from being perfect, neither issue is significant enough to overshadow the overall ownership experience.

For families considering the move to an electric SUV, the e-3008 demonstrates just how easy and enjoyable EV ownership can be.

Would I buy it again?

Yes.

Despite a few early software teething problems, the e-3008 has proven itself to be a comfortable, efficient and practical family EV that I genuinely enjoy driving. For my needs, it remains one of the best all-round electric SUVs currently on sale.
