Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade joins Xbox Game Pass on 29 October, alongside a fresh selection of horror, co-operative and puzzle games. Here is what is arriving, when you can play it and which subscription you need.
Cloud Strife’s trip to Midgar is the headline act in the second October Game Pass wave. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has been available to buy on Xbox since January, but from Thursday 29 October 2026 it joins Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. That is a welcome addition for anyone who held off purchasing Square Enix’s RPG.
There is plenty happening around it. The Séance of Blake Manor arrives ahead of Halloween, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted brings back the garden-defence classic, and psychological horror Mouthwashing lands on Game Pass through a separate ID@Xbox announcement. Not every release comes to every tier, so it pays to check the small print before filling your download queue.
The lineup builds on the first October wave, which included Battlefield 6, Valor Mortis and several smaller releases.
Xbox Game Pass October Wave 2: full dates, platforms and tiers

Why Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is the big addition
The remake turns the opening Midgar section of the 1997 original into a substantial RPG of its own. Mercenary Cloud Strife joins Avalanche, a resistance group fighting the Shinra Electric Power Company, in a city where the extraction of mako energy comes at a terrible cost. What starts as a sabotage job becomes an increasingly personal struggle.
Combat balances real-time swordplay with deliberate tactical choices. You can dodge, block and attack directly, then use commands to unleash abilities and coordinate your party. It is more involved than a straight action game, but newcomers do not need to have played the original to understand the opening story.
Crucially, the Intergrade edition also includes FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, a separate adventure featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. Square Enix’s January Xbox launch announcement makes clear that this is the expanded version of the remake, rather than the base release alone.
The Xbox edition launched on 22 January; 29 October is its Game Pass debut. The inclusion of Premium alongside Ultimate and PC Game Pass gives subscribers a reason to try it without buying the game separately or upgrading to the top console tier.
Mouthwashing and Blake Manor bring the Halloween chill
The Séance of Blake Manor is set in an isolated Irish hotel in 1897, where a missing woman and a collection of suspicious guests await your investigation. Unpicking the mystery means talking to people, gathering evidence and working out what is happening behind the hotel’s respectable facade. It joins Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass on 27 October.
Mouthwashing is a much grimmer experience. Wrong Organ’s psychological horror follows five crew members stranded aboard the damaged freighter Tulpar, with dwindling supplies and a story nobody seems eager to tell. Its strength lies in the tension between those people, not in giving players another monster-filled shooting gallery.
Publisher Critical Reflex has confirmed 29 October availability on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox on PC and Game Pass. However, that announcement does not identify the individual Game Pass tiers. Check the game’s UK store listing before assuming your membership includes it.
What else is worth downloading?
For something considerably brighter, Dodo Duckie arrives on 22 October with puzzles built around switching between 2D and 3D. A magical cap helps its feathered hero uncover routes, deal with aliens and rescue kidnapped chicken friends. It is included with Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass.
Scramble Knights Online follows on 26 October in Game Preview. This online action RPG centres on teaming up for quests, dungeons and loot, then using your rewards to forge stronger equipment. It launches into Ultimate and PC Game Pass, but Premium is not listed.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted refreshes the original backyard battles in HD and adds new levels. It arrives on 29 October through EA Play for Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Also on the 29th, Terrible Lizards swaps fighting for parkour: your best chance against its horrors is to keep moving. That day-one release is likewise for Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Rounding things out on 3 November, Pit of Goblin turns dungeon scavenging into online co-operative horror. Goblins must dodge traps, grab supplies and keep their ruler fed, preferably without becoming the next meal. Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass members are included.
Premium additions are not all new releases
Sandustry deserves a separate mention. The destructible-world factory game is already in Game Preview for Ultimate and PC Game Pass; 21 October adds Premium access. Existing members of those other tiers are not getting a second launch.
There is no blanket rule that Premium receives every new addition. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, The Séance of Blake Manor, Dodo Duckie and Pit of Goblin are included. Scramble Knights Online, Terrible Lizards and Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted are listed for Ultimate and PC Game Pass instead. Cloud support also depends on the title, your membership, device and connection.
If you are wondering whether the monthly price still adds up, our Game Pass value guide looks at the case for subscribing versus owning your games.
Nine games are leaving on 31 October
Halloween is also the deadline for nine departures, including LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Deep Rock Galactic, Wartales and Grim Fandango Remastered. Microsoft’s new list has one more title than the eight originally shown in the Leaving Soon reports.
Our 31 October departures guide was written against that earlier list; Grim Fandango Remastered is the additional confirmed departure. Microsoft has also scheduled Football Manager 26 on PC and Football Manager 26 – Console Edition on cloud, console and PC to leave on 10 November.
Removing a game from Game Pass ends your subscription access, not a separate purchase. Saves and achievements are generally retained, although carrying progress between editions and platforms depends on the game. Check the version you are buying if you want to continue after it leaves.
Updates and subscriber benefits
The Elder Scrolls Online gets its Echoes of Skyrim Season 2 update on 21 October. Members can also claim a Welcome Pack for The Finals, including 500 Multibucks, a 25% bonus XP boost and cosmetics, across the announced Game Pass plans.
World of Tanks Modern Armor adds an XP Stock bundle on 3 November, containing repair, medical and fire-suppression items. These are updates and benefits, not additional games in the release count.
Tech Torque Verdict
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is the clear draw here. Its arrival on Premium gives more subscribers a chance to play a major RPG — complete with Yuffie’s extra episode — without another purchase.
Around it, the choice is refreshingly varied. Blake Manor is for players who want to investigate a creepy mystery; Mouthwashing should satisfy those after something more disturbing; and Plants vs. Zombies offers familiar fun between heavier games. Just do not assume the word “Game Pass” means your particular tier is covered.
With nine games leaving at the end of the month, anyone halfway through a long campaign might be better off finishing that before starting another. Midgar can wait a few days.
