Xbox has wrapped its Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast with 17 fresh gameplay reveals and announcements, a surprise release and a world premiere. Hideo Kojima delivered the closing headline by confirming Bill Skarsgård as the lead of PHYSINT.

Beyond Kojima, there was plenty for Xbox players to take away. The show included a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign trailer, Japan for Crazy Taxi: World Tour, Naoto Shirogane in Persona 4 Revival, extended Raji: Kaliyuga gameplay and a surprise Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass launch for Shape of Dreams.

It follows our Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 preview from earlier today. If you missed the broadcast live, Xbox has the full English-language 4K show available below.

Kojima confirms Bill Skarsgård as PHYSINT’s lead

Hideo Kojima appeared for the closing segment with fresh updates on both OD – KNOCK and PHYSINT.

The headline announcement was confirmation that Swedish actor and producer Bill Skarsgård will portray the lead role in PHYSINT. Kojima Productions also shared a new poster featuring Skarsgård alongside Charlee Fraser.

Skarsgård joins an announced cast that includes Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hamabe. Kojima said costume fittings, scans and camera tests with Skarsgård and Fraser had already taken place earlier this year.

The timing makes the reveal particularly significant for Xbox. Only last week, Xbox confirmed it will publish PHYSINT, expanding its relationship with Kojima Productions beyond OD.

For OD – KNOCK, Kojima also shared behind-the-scenes footage of Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer working through a performance-capture session.

Xbox’s separate PHYSINT announcement confirms the casting and the latest development update.

Modern Warfare 4 gets a new campaign trailer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was one of the biggest established names in the showcase, with a new campaign trailer shifting attention away from multiplayer and towards the story players will get at launch.

The trailer shows Captain Price on the run as war erupts on the Korean Peninsula and a catastrophic weapon threatens to fall into the wrong hands. Modern Warfare 4 launches on 23 October 2026, while campaign early access begins on 16 October for eligible digital pre-orders.

We have already spent considerable time with the multiplayer through the beta, including our look at what worked and what Infinity Ward still needs to fix. This trailer gives us a much clearer look at the other half of the package.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour heads to Japan

SEGA used Tokyo Game Show to reveal Japan for Crazy Taxi: World Tour, giving the returning series a setting built around fast passenger runs, local encounters and souvenirs to collect along the way.

The footage showed a mix of historic neighbourhoods and modern city streets, with players racing across the map while picking up passengers and exploring the new setting.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour remains scheduled for 2027 on Xbox Series X|S. Revealing Japan at Tokyo Game Show was an obvious fit, but it also gives a better sense of how much broader the new game’s world is aiming to be.

Persona 4 Revival introduces Naoto Shirogane

Atlus continued the build-up to Persona 4 Revival with a new character trailer focused on Naoto Shirogane.

The detective returns as part of the Special Investigation Team, with the footage offering another look at the remake’s characters and combat.

Persona 4 Revival is scheduled for 18 February 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud. It will also be included with Game Pass and supports Xbox Play Anywhere.

Raji: Kaliyuga shows its new direction

One of the more substantial gameplay demonstrations came from Raji: Kaliyuga.

Developer Nodding Heads showed an extended first look with commentary, focusing on the combat systems at the heart of the sequel. Set six years after the original game, Kaliyuga expands the conflict to include gods, asuras and other mystical forces.

The biggest change is structural. Where the original used an isometric perspective, the sequel moves into a full third-person action-adventure format. It is planned for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud, with Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Shape of Dreams is available now on Xbox and Game Pass

Shape of Dreams was the show’s immediate play-it-now surprise. The action roguelite launched today on Xbox Series X|S and went straight into Game Pass.

It supports four-player play and cross-play, while the new trailer highlights its run-based structure and introduces Cetus as the latest playable Traveler.

For anyone looking for something from the broadcast to jump into straight away, this is the standout announcement.

Wo Long 2 reveals a new boss

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember also received a new gameplay showing, revealing the demon boss Zuochi.

An Alpha Demo is available until 30 September. Players who complete it can claim the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet in the full game when it launches.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember arrives on 4 March 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

A broad showcase rather than one giant reveal

Xbox’s own full Tokyo Game Show recap runs through all 17 reveals and announcements, including Faraday Blues, Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, Bloomwalker, GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT, Genigods: Nezha, Hope in the City and the latest Fallout 76 and Once Human updates.

The updates above are the ones most likely to matter to Xbox players first, particularly where there is new gameplay, a firm release detail or something available to play immediately.

Tech Torque Verdict

Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 was not built around one enormous first-party surprise, and it did not need to be. PHYSINT gave the broadcast its strongest finish, particularly so soon after Xbox became the game’s publisher, while the wider show kept delivering useful updates across the line-up.

Modern Warfare 4 showed more of its campaign, Crazy Taxi: World Tour finally revealed Japan, Persona 4 Revival continued to take shape, Raji: Kaliyuga showed a meaningful change in direction and Shape of Dreams gave Game Pass subscribers something new to play immediately.

It was a steady, varied showcase with plenty of confirmed material — and saving Kojima for the finish gave Xbox the closing moment it needed.
