iOS 27 Is Now Available in the UK as Siri AI Starts Rolling Out

Apple’s biggest iPhone update of the year is here, and there’s considerably more to it than a new coat of paint.

iOS 27 brings Siri AI to supported iPhones alongside expanded Apple Intelligence features, performance improvements, new parental controls and further refinements to Apple’s Liquid Glass design.

The important detail is that not every iPhone capable of running iOS 27 gets the full AI experience. Siri AI requires newer hardware, so owners of older compatible devices will still get the wider software update without all of Apple’s latest intelligence features.

Why it matters: This is the point where Apple’s much-discussed Siri overhaul starts becoming something you can actually use rather than something demonstrated on a stage. We’ll be particularly interested in how useful it proves once people have lived with it for a while.

UK EV Prices Face 2027 Tariff Risk as Carmakers Push for Battery Rules Delay

There could be another headache coming for electric-car manufacturers — and potentially buyers too.

From January 2027, tougher UK–EU rules are due to apply to where EVs and their batteries are sourced. Vehicles that fail those rules could lose tariff-free treatment and face a 10% tariff when traded between Britain and the EU.

That does not mean your next EV will suddenly cost 10% more. Manufacturers could absorb some of the cost, change their supply chains or reach another agreement with policymakers before the deadline.

But with EV affordability already under pressure, it’s one worth keeping an eye on.

Why it matters: What sounds like a fairly dry trade rule could eventually affect the prices, finance deals and even the models you see in UK showrooms.

Hisense C3 Ultra Max Gets UK Listing With 5,000-Lumen 4K Projection and Devialet Audio

If a 100-inch television still isn’t big enough, Hisense has another option.

The C3 Ultra Max has now appeared on the company’s UK website, promising 4K projection at up to 300 inches alongside 5,000 ANSI lumens, Dolby Vision and audio tuned by Devialet.

It also supports Xbox Cloud Gaming, making this considerably more than a traditional projector with a streaming stick plugged into the back.

UK pricing remains the big unanswered question.

Why it matters: Projectors are becoming more convincing as all-in-one entertainment systems. If Hisense gets the price right, the C3 Ultra Max could be an interesting alternative to an enormous premium TV.

Madrid finally hosted its first Formula 1 race at Madring — and there was plenty to like about the spectacle.

The racing itself was a little less convincing.

Our post-race analysis looked past the new-venue buzz and asked a simpler question: was it actually easy enough for the cars to race one another?

One Grand Prix isn’t enough to judge a new circuit properly, especially when teams are still learning how best to approach it. But the first race gave Formula 1 plenty to look at before it returns.

Why it matters: A circuit can look spectacular and still need work. If Madring is going to become a long-term fixture on the F1 calendar, improving the opportunities for genuine wheel-to-wheel racing should be part of that conversation.

Penske Formula E Team Sold as Fortescue Zero Joins GEN4 Grid with Jaguar Power

There’s a significant change coming to the Formula E grid.

Fortescue Zero is taking over Penske’s Formula E operation ahead of the GEN4 era, with the team set to run Jaguar powertrains.

That brings Penske’s involvement to an end and gives Fortescue Zero an immediate route into the championship without having to build a new operation from scratch.

There’s some interesting history involved too. The team can trace its Formula E roots all the way back to Dragon Racing and the championship’s inaugural season.

Why it matters: GEN4 already promises a substantial technical reset for Formula E. A new owner taking over one of the championship’s longest-established teams adds another storyline worth watching.
